NOOMA Shells | 020 Rob Bell…

Nooma 020 Shells

The newest NOOMA video was released on the internet today!  It won’t be available to own until mid-June, but you can pre-order it here.  Check out the NOOMA fan page on Facebook from now until May 21st.

This one has spoken to my current situation.  I have recently become an owner of an Apple iPhone because I needed a more powerful phone to “get everything done”.  Sometimes I think I may juggle too much in order to keep myself super busy.  Hmmm.  Maybe a later post?

It’s easy to get overwhelmed with appointments, gatherings, to-do lists. But what are we really doing with our time? Many of us are running from place to place and it seems like life is just passing us by. We’re doing so many things, a little bit of everything, and yet it doesn’t feel like much of a life. But most of us find it hard to say no. We feel obligated. There are so many good things to do. So many good causes to join. But while we’re busy doing all these good things, are we missing out on something great? Maybe saying no would be easier if we knew what it meant to say yes.

Sometimes I’m Really Embarrassed of America…

This was apparently one of many segments that ABC did. I love (sometimes) hidden camera specials. The first two guests in this particular segment make me want to puke. But on the good side, this video takes place in a very special place to me — West, TX. Now I generally stop at the world famous Czech Stop Bakery, but if you have to go to the Little Czech Bakery, then I guess you’re still doing pretty well.

Watch the video, tell me what you think? What would you do? What’s the church’s role in this?

My Top 25 Most Played Songs…

This was an interesting little revelation for me today.
Check out your “Top 25 Most Played” smart playlist in your iTunes menu.
I was pretty interested to see what was in there.
Keep in mind that my iTunes has only been keeping track since February of 2006, and iTunes only counts what was played on this computer…not my car, ipod, etc.

This is how they’ll be listed…
“Song Title” - Artist Name - Album Name - Play Count

  24. “The Dress Looks Nice on You” - Sufjan Stevens - Seven Swans - 171
  25. “Secret of the Easy Yoke” - Pedro The Lion - It’s Hard to Find a Friend - 170

OBSERVATIONS:

- I listen to a lot of Death Cab for Cutie. 32% of my Top 25 (50% of the Top 10) is comprised of this band.

- “Doubting Thomas” is the only song by Nickel Creek that I own. Apparently I like it.

- Alex Cramer is 3 plays away from being in the #2 spot. That’s impressive.

- Both Alex Cramer (#3) and Reeve Hunter (#13) have never recorded an album.

- Pedro the Lion is my all-time favorite band, but only one song cracks the Top 25?

- #19 is a blank track on the David Crowder Band’s first record. I use it every now and again when making mixtapes. I guess that’s how it got there.
