Map Of U.S. with Dominant Denominations…

This is an interesting map that I found on marko‘s blog.
The original is here.

It’s a map of the United States color coded with the dominant denomination of that region.

How To Tie a Tie…

Ever need to fix up and look sharp?
I can remember being in Junior High and having to tie my friends’ ties before basketball games. I was always baffled that they never learned to tie one. Even in High School I would tie their ties. In hindsight I should have started a business. They wouldn’t untie them either when we were done with the day. They would just hang them on their rear-view mirrors until next time.

Well…
For those of you that can’t tie a tie, or never knew that there is more than one kind of knot, here’s a simple how-to:

1 Corinthians 13, If I Have Not Love…

1 Corinthians 13

Love

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love
does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.  For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.

But the greatest of these is love.

I Adopted A Cat…

Yesterday, I adopted a kitty from one of our local animal shelters. I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The facility was clean, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. It was a great experience, and I would definitely hit them up again if I’m looking for another companion.

Now back to the kitty…

She’s 9 weeks old and a ball of fun! She’s incredibly friendly and loves to be as close to you as possible. She follows me around the apartment no matter where I go. And as soon as I sit or lay down, she’s curling up on top of me. I’m instantly falling in love with her.

But she still doesn’t have a name. I’m just calling her “Kitty” for now. Any suggestions?

[update: I've since named her KC (for Kitty Cat).  It's pronounced Casey.]
